1. What data is recorded, how is it used, and how long is it stored?

Technical characteristics

When you visit our web pages, the web server temporarily records the domain name or your computer’s IP address, the file requested (file name and URL) by the client, the http response code, and the website from which you are visiting us.

The recorded data is used solely for data security purposes, particularly to protect against attempted attacks on our web server (Article 6 (1f) GDPR). We do not use it to create individual user profiles nor do we share this information with third parties. It is erased after seven days at the latest. We reserve the right to statistically analyze anonymized data records.

Additional personal data is not collected unless you provide this information voluntarily.

2. Will my usage habits be evaluated, e.g. for advertising purposes or tracking?

Explanations and definitions

We want you to enjoy using our web pages and take advantage of our content and services. We analyze your usage habits on the basis of anonymized or pseudonymized data so you can find the contents that interest you and so we can make our web pages user-friendly. We or companies commissioned by us to process data create usage profiles to the extent permitted by law. This information cannot be traced back to you directly. Subsequently, we are providing some general information about the various purposes.

Tag management (required)

We use tag management to administer how tools are used on the various web pages of our web portal. A tag is set for each page to do this. Based on the tag, the system can determine which tools should be used for this page. Tag management can be used to specifically ensure that the tools are only used where appropriate.

Required cookies

These cookies are required to enable you to navigate through the web pages and use key functions. They enable basic functions. They are also used for anonymized evaluation of user behavior, which helps us to continuously further develop our website for you. The legal basis for processing is Article 6 (1b) GDPR.

Analysis cookies

These cookies help us to improve our understanding of user behavior.

Analysis cookies enable inquiries of usage and identification possibilities through initial and third-party suppliers in pseudonymous user profiles. We use analysis cookies, for example, to determine the number of unique visitors to a web page or service or to collect other statistics relevant to the operation of our products, as well as to analyze – based on anonymous and pseudonymous information – how visitors interact with the website. This information cannot be traced back to a person. The legal basis for processing is Article 6 (Ia) GDPR.

Other than the required cookies, this website does not use any further analytical cookies for anonymized evaluation of user behavior.

5. What rights do I have?

You have the right

a) To request information about the categories of personal data processed, the purposes of the processing, any recipients of the data, and the envisaged storage period (Art. 15 GDPR);

b) To request that incorrect or incomplete data be rectified or supplemented (Art. 16 GDPR); 

c) To withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR);

d) To object to the processing of data on the grounds of legitimate interests, for reasons relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 (1) GDPR);

e) To request the erasure of data in certain cases under Art. 17 GDPR – especially if the data is no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which it was collected or is unlawfully processed, or if you withdraw your consent according to (c) above or object according to (d) above; 

f) To demand, under certain circumstances, the restriction of data where erasure is not possible or the erasure obligation is disputed (Art. 18 GDPR);

g) To data portability, i.e. you can receive the data that you provided to us in a commonly used and machine-readable format such as CSV, and can, where necessary, transfer the data to others (Art. 20 GDPR);

h) To file a complaint with the responsible supervisory authority regarding data processing (for telecommunications contracts: the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Bundesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit); for any other matters: State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen).

6. Who does Deutsche Telekom pass my data on to?

To processors, i.e., companies we engage to process data within the legally defined scope, Art. 28 GDPR (service providers, agents). In this case, Deutsche Telekom also remains responsible for protecting your data. We engage companies particularly in the following areas: IT, sales, marketing, finance, consulting, customer services, HR, logistics, and printing.

To cooperation partners who, on their own responsibility, provide services for you or in conjunction with your Deutsche Telekom contract. This is the case if you order services from these partners through us, if you consent to the involvement of the partner, or if we involve the partner on the basis of legal permission.

Owing to legal obligations: In certain cases, we are legally obliged to transfer certain data to a state authority that requests it.

7. Where will my data be processed?

Your data will be processed in Germany and other European countries. If, in exceptional cases, your data is processed in countries outside the European Union (in so-called third countries), this will take place

a) if you have expressly consented to this (Article 49 (1) a GDPR). (In most countries outside the EU, the level of data protection does not meet EU standards. This concerns in particular comprehensive monitoring and control rights of state authorities, e. g. in the USA, which disproportionately interfere with the data protection of European citizens,

b) or to the extent necessary for our service provision to you (Article 49 (1) b GDPR),

c) or to the extent required by law (Article 49 (1) c GDPR).

Furthermore, your data will only be processed in third countries if certain measures ensure a suitable level of data protection (e.g., EU Commission's adequacy decision or suitable guarantees, Art. 44 et seq. GDPR).

8. Data privacy notice of Deutsche Telekom AG for the newsletter dispatch

The processing of your personal data is governed by the General Data Privacy Notice of Deutsche Telekom AG.

Insofar as you receive newsletter from us and/or have subscribed to it, the following information also applies.

The Data Privacy Notice on newsletter dispatch informs you about which personal data is collected when sending newsletters for which purposes this data is processed, when this data will be deleted and on what legal basis this is done.

1. What data is collected and for what purpose are they processed?

When you register for Telekom Content World, you implicitly subscribe to the Telekom Content World newsletter. We use your e-mail address to send the respective newsletter, in which we inform you irregularly about topics of the Telekom Content World. The legal basis is your consent in accordance with Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR when registering for or logging into the Telekom Content World. In order to ensure your proper registration for the newsletter, i.e. to prevent unauthorized registrations on behalf of third parties, an e-mail will be sent to you after your registration in the double opt-in procedure, in which we ask for confirmation of the registration.

In connection with your newsletter registration, we also save your registration data (e.g. e-mail address, date and time of registration at Telekom Content World) so that we can understand the registration at a later point in time and your consent to the terms of use of Telekom Content World can prove. The legal basis for this storage is a legitimate interest, Art 6 Paragraph 1 lit f, Art 7 Paragraph 1 GDPR. The legitimate interest is based on the obligation to prove consent.

2. How long do we store your data?

We store your email address in your Telekom Content World user account and use it to send you the newsletter. After deleting your user account, your login data will be saved for up to 3 ½ years for the purpose of securing evidence.

3. How can I cancel the newsletter mailing?

You can revoke your consent to the newsletter being sent by Deutsche Telekom AG at any time for the future by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the end of any newsletter you have received.
You can also deactivate and reactivate future newsletters in your user account in the Telekom Content World.
